Nguyen Thanh Hien was born in Budapest in 1994 as the third child of Vietnamese parents. She moved to a smaller town Sopron at the age of seven and started learning piano and violin. Hien’s big idol being the famous violinist Vanessa Mae, she took her classes very seriously and performed at many occasions playing solo violin including concerts with the Sopron Symphonic Orchestra.
Singing has always been part of Hien’s life, coming very naturally to express herself in music. She made into the finals of Megasztár (The Hungarian Idol) in 2008, and has enjoyed popularity ever since, showing a lot of dedication to bring the best out of her voice with her vocal coach from the TV show, Sanyi Csík (ex-4U). In 2009, Hien moved back to Budapest with her family and enrolled at the foundation school of the famous ELTE University.
Apart from the singing and her studies, Hien is also fond of dancing, and attended Hip Hop classes for years. Whenever Hien has spare time, she also practices her favorite hobby, which is photography.
Her first solo album came out on our label soon after the Idol show, in 2009, entitled ‘Játék az egész’ (It’s only a game). On her second release, Hien also contributed as a songwriter, and made a video for her first released song called ‘Not Livin’ in Yesterday’.
