Szász Szabolcs obtained his accordion theacher’s, later artist diploma at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest.
Besides classical music he learnt popular music, jazz piano and music theory from renowned artists. The present album, titled First Notes is the result of nearly two decades of work and gathered experience.
"On my concerts I was asked several times that why I don’t have an own album so far? I considered it to be important to wait until I could draw up with my own music, until the first own tunes play, and these make up the material for an album"– states the composer. This album contains seven original compositions, which were published by Editio Musica Budapest in 2014 as score in the album titled Dance Music for Accordion. Apart from these it contains three personal adaptions from composers like Oscar Peterson – whose music is a real challenge to perform on the instrument. Hopefully the listener finds pleasure in getting to know this new accordion repertoire.
